This article deals with the role played by Turkey to politicize the process of European Union as an issue in France and in Germany. It also deals with the way the integration of Turkey to the EU has been instrumental to overcome army’s opposition to Mr. Erdogan’s Islamic party. It tries to show the differences between Turkey and EU political cultures during post Second World War era, the first one being very much concerned by maintaining the homogeneity (racially and ethnically) of the population and the second one being obsessed by maintaining peace.HER_164_0213_Seni_Nora_À quoi sert la Turquie en Europe
