Enfin une réaction du gouvernement français au sujet de la répression des universitaires turcs. Il a fallu pour cela que soit emprisonnés un enseignant-chercheur turc, maître de conférences (HDR) de l’Université de Lyon 1, fonctionnaire donc de l’Etat français et une professeure émérite de l’Université turco-française Galatasaray. Or les signataires de la pétition pour la Paix sont au nombre de 2212, dont 739 poursuivis en justice et et 194 condamnés à des peines diverses, 35 à des peines de prison ferme.

Plus dramatique encore est le nombre de ceux qui ont été exclus par décret-loi de la fonction publique: 400!. Ils sont ainsi condamnés au chômage, – les universités privées n’ose plus les recruter- et ils ne peuvent quitter le territoire turc puisque ces décrets annulent automatiquement la validité de leur passeport.
