Michael Brill will present, “History of Jews in Iraqi Kurdistan in the 20th Century.” His presentation will shed light on the movement of individuals, claiming to be Jews or of Jewish ancestry, between northern Iraq and Israel following the 1991 Gulf War and the creation of the Kurdish Autonomous Region. Documentations produced by the Baʿthist security services and what they reveal of this little known chapter in the history of Iraqi Kurdistan will be the basis of this presentation.
