Osman Kavala’ya Özgürlük – Free Osman Kavala platform has launched a letter campaign for Osman Kavala, who was handed down a verdict of acquittal and release in Gezi trial, but has been arrested again as part of another investigation into the July 15 coup attempt.

Those who do not have the opportunity or the means to send letters or cards to Osman Kavala by post can send their messages to the freeosmankavala@gmail.com email address to be sent to Osman Kavala.

“We are writing letters to dear Osman Kavala” letter-sending campaign has been launched for rights defender and businessperson Osman Kavala, who was handed down a verdict of acquittal and release in Gezi trial on February 18, but has been arrested again as part of an investigation launched into the attempted coup on July 15, 2016.

The campaign has been launched by artists and Kavala’s friends from arts, culture and civil society. “We want to express our solidarity for Osman Kavala, who was arrested despite a European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) verdict of release and has to return to his former prison cell, with letters/cards”, the campaign has read.

The campaign has made the following call: “We invite you to send your messages of solidarity for Osman Kavala by post.”

The address of Osman Kavala in Silivri Prison is as follows: “Silivri Kapalı Ceza İnfaz Kurumu, 9 No’lu Cezaevi, A-7 / C 59, 34570 Silivri/İstanbul”
