D’importants changements aux niveaux économique et politique se sont produits dans la dernière décennie en Turquie. Ces changements ont bouleversé les rapports de force aussi bien à l’intérieur du pays que dans la région. Le déplacement du centre de gravité du commerce extérieur turc de l’Europe vers le Moyen-Orient et l’Afrique du Nord constitue l’arrière-plan économique d’un nouveau paradigme dans les relations stratégiques entre l’Occident et l’Orient. La dernière décennie a connu un développement économique rapide associé à des changements de politiques majeurs. Ces deux phénomènes se sont traduits dans l’évolution du commerce extérieur turc en général et sa dimension énergétique en particulier. Cette évolution commerciale n’est pas sans implications stratégiques.

Important economic and political changes occurred in Turkey during the last decade. These disrupted the power games both within the country and in the region. The displacement of Turkish foreign trade’s center of gravity from Europe to the Middle East and North Africa forms the economic background of a new paradigm in the relationships between the West and the East. The last decade has seen a rapid economic development associated with important political changes. These two phenomena can be observed in the evolution of Turkish foreign trade in general, and in its energetic dimension in particular.
